Maid of Might!

[Joel]

Hey all, just wanted to post my latest. I plan to have these available at the NY Comic Con so swing by and check them out!

I've been trying a lot of new stuff in these pieces and it's been a fun learning process...I have to give JJ Kirby props on helping layout the Zatanna piece I recently posted, again very different than how I normally approach things, but refreshing.

Working at the studio enables you to learn with and from the people around you...I've had the fortune of working at several great studios (Top Cow, Aspen, and of course , WildStorm). I enjoy learning from other artists...sure, I'll ocassionally get a critique that will leave me reeling now and then, but in the end I'm a better artist for it!

Lately, several of us have taken to having drawing sessions together on the weekends as well, and it's been pretty cool. There's a good energy about us...and I'm excited to see where it takes us.

Be sure to stop by artist alley and sey "Hey", it'd be great to meet you guys!

JOEL

Working at WS is an aspiring artists wet dream! You guy's are the best (or close to). And you working at Top Cow and Aspen is just selfish. Pick ONE!! Jk lol.

There she is! Kara looks angelic! I really like how the darker background brings out her light figure.

Drawing sessions and artist collectives sound good and make sense. I've only had the pleasure o' drawin' w/ 1 other person @ a time.

Peace.

Hey Anonymous, thanks for the kind words...I think it's always what you make of your experience...a lot of it has nothing to do with art but more about trying to understand one another...you pull out the best from each other and maximize what your able to learn...having that kind of attitude is good anywhere!

Thanks, Meek
Yea our drawing sessions are getting better as well...it's kinda like going to the gym with a buddy. You always feel better when someone is there hammering away at something, just like you.

It kinda looks like she's itching her stuff on the heel of her boot.

Maybe she lost a battle against Posion Ivy?
