Dream, Death and Friends

[Oliver]

Hey ya'lls, here's a piece that I finally finished after working on it here and there for the past year. It's of my fave Death and Dream (my first time taking a crack at him) from Sandman, which in recent months I've finally started to read thanks to the newly reprinted trades of the series.

It was mainly done for fun and practice of some new techniques and styles with cool and warm gray markers and various inking tools, on a 15x20 hardstock art board.

Anyhoo, hope you like;)

Hmm... Your proportions, body and facial, are usually somewhat off. I know you were experimenting, but also sometimes there is just too much fussy detail and your eye gets lost trying to get around the composition.

Awesome. As a painter by profession and someone who's learning inking techniques right now, it's nice to see a piece like this that has loads of different uses of different techniques involved with each other. I also like the clash of the grey with the white and black. Gives it an almost collage like feel to some of the characters. Really nice work.
