DC Team-Up!

[Oliver]

Hey ya'lls, how's it hanging? Here's a double-page commission I did for my friend Dave back in Austin who is a HUGE DC fan of his two fave characters...Hal Jordan and Barry Allen.

I think this is my first time drawing either character and I had alot of fun doing it. Green Lantern is my fave DC title and it's good to see Hal and Barry teaming up again;)

Jason Pearson - Domino

[Eddy]

I had a great time at the Emerald City Comicon last weekend and I even had a chance to record one of my favorite artists sketching at the show. Unfortunately, this sketch isn't for me, but I wish it was!

Thanks to Jason for letting me tape this little video and to Jim Demonakos for putting on another fun show!

Hope you enjoy the video!

Emerald City Comicon 2010!

[Oliver]

Had a blast at my first ever Emerald City Comicon and first trip to Seattle! Thanks to all who stopped by and got their "Monsters & Dames" book signed and to those who got commissions, sketchbooks, prints, etc.

This Zatanna is a commission I did at the show, had it layed out beforehand though, and spent most of Sat. finishing it.

I'll definitely be going back next year!

Batman #700 Cover

[Scott Williams]

This just went up on the DC blog, The Source, so I guess it's cool to post it here. I found this to be quite an iconic image by Dave Finch, and the fact that it's the cover to Batman #700 is quite an honor for me. I'm still getting a handle on how to interpret Dave's style so that it's unmistakeably Finch, but also has some of the Williams flavor.

The first couple of DC covers I did with Dave (which I will share soon) were mostly pen, but this was all brush, with the exception of the background buildings and bricks.

Dave draws so well, it's my job just to not screw it up.

Wizard World Anaheim 2010

[Eddy]

Eddie Nuñez, Oliver Nome, Livio Ramondelli and JJ Kirby are now confirmed for the Wizard World Anaheim show and will be in Artist's Alley on April 16-18. Should be another great show with a huge guest list!

Con season's definitely heating up with the Emerald City Comicon this weekend, followed by WonderCon, Wizard World Anaheim and the Phoenix Comicon all in a row.

Jim Lee's first show of the year will be at the WonderCon on April 2-4.

Hopefully, we'll see you at one of these shows!

Authority: The Lost Year

[Joel]

Been a while since I've posted and just thought to share some of my latest work. I recently had the opportunity to work on Authority: The Lost Year #6-7 over Brian Stelfreeze's layouts and I couldn't have imagined how much I would've learned from the experience! In my time as a background artist I've been lucky to work and learn from some of the best in the biz, and it never ceases to amaze how different each creator's approach can be and what you can take from the collaboration.

I was a bit nervous at the beginning of the run, but only after speaking to Brian, during the middle of the first issue, did I have a better grasp on how to approach the layouts he gave me, and I thank him for it. I think what I took from our conversation allowed me to confidently approach the the rest of the project with an idea to service the story rather than how to mash our styles together...so check for it!

I also have to give an extra special thanks to Michael Lopez, JJ Kirby and Jon Bolerjak for their assist and guidance. JJ and Mike are our resident art assassins and Jon been cutting his teeth here as a young up-and-coming inker.

Miracleman

[Oliver]

Hey ya'lls, here's a recent commission I did of Miracleman. It was my first time drawing him and I had a lot of fun with this piece.

I just wanted to keep him bold and in a simple, but commanding, pose against the crosshatched background for that little extra 'Pop'!

Hope you like. ;)
