"In my own, special way."

[Sinc']

Inks: Got a couple boards from Jim & Scott for this one. One's the Joker and the other was blood splatter which Jim wanted dropped in behind the Joker.

Solicits: We were pressed for time to get this to solicits so I did 2 quick versions (left and middle). DC did not want to reveal that the Joker would be in this issue so I did the one on the right which is what was printed.

Cover: While I was coloring it, Jim mentioned that he wanted to have a big 'ol tattoo on the Joker. Everyone loved the idea and a few days later I got the scan for it. I had already colored the cover by then so all I had to do was google "dragon tattoo" for reference and color it accordingly. I added it to the Joker; tweaked it so it would look like it's on his body and shipped it out.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

First off the colors look good. But to tell yo the truth I thought the cover would have been awesome with the simple red and black with the identity of the joker concealed. I mean, isn't that way you get hype? Not not divulge all the information in the book? But the colors look pretty sweet.

I like the tattoo, but I kind of agree with bamf27. It would have been a pretty cool image if it was more b/w/r.

Loved the cover! Loved the issue! I really like the idea of a tat on Joker, especially since his body's pretty much a blank canvas. He must be a tattoo artist's wet dream. Brilliant idea. Was there a reason you're aware of why a dragon was chosen in particular, instead of, say, like a predictable card suit or jester/joker face?

Thanks for the step-by-step! Your entries are one o' the ones I look most forward to on the blog. ¦]

And how awesome was it to color the swastitka chick? LOL Best. Evil. Henchman. Evar.

Peace...

I'm agreeing with Meek? about the best evil henchman, but I'm wondering where the "exclamation" points were for those swasTITkas were?

And I have to say, that the beginning of the book, with the Joker intro was some moody stuff. Loved the shadows on the close ups.

... I agree with the red black and white guys ... that would have been a great selling point on the racks cuz millers name is all over the thing ... excellent issue though ... robin is so gonna be the boss with that bow and arrow.

Yo bamf! I think the exclamation points are the swastitkas. That must be her metahuman power. All-Star Nazi Nipples back-up origin story w/ art by Michael Lopez, please!! lol!
