more new art

more new art Originally uploaded by Gelatomettista2.

Here's some more new art from me. I am in the middle of scanning and backing up a lot of my new work and this one I had mentioned to Eric Canete yesterday (he had asked me about the African piece I had done a few weeks back). This is probably one of the most complex pieces I have ever worked on. The mental juggling this took to complete was really tough on me and it stretched me about every way it possibly could have. I was ready to give up several times but saw it through to the end. I still haven't spent enough time with it to really be subjective in terms of looking at it as anything more than a lot of work...I am glad I did it though. Starting and finishing things is an important part of the learning process.

more new stuff soon.

Wonderful piece Rich, would love to see more like it.

I'm envious that Eric got to hang out at the WS studios yesterday. He told me it's likezo a geek's Valhalla, lol!

Rich,
that Piece is just awesome!!! looks like someones been into toppi a lot lately, huh?? ;) I love this stuff!! you really should do some kind of sample page in that style, that would just be great! please keep on posting stuff like that.

Btw. I think I remember watching that samurai movie, it was very inspirational :)

All the best,
Sedat

Hi Rich, I find your personal pieces appealing more so on an academic level. Much like Travis C.'s work. The renderings are at a master's level. You should be teaching at a University rather than doing comics !LOL! Not sure youd be happy with that though.

So, are you going to have any prints for sale at Comic-Con? I wouldn't mind picking up a print of this. Nice work Rich.

Comicon always falls during finals time here so I really can't enjoy it. maybe as a graduation present to myself or my husband, we'll go out to a big con. The pics make it look so much funner than our dinky con. Gotta get my conning in during that brief period between graduating from grad school and loan repayment kicking in :)

Nice detail. In black & white this is looking a lot like a Unoe Takehiko piece, but with your own distinct flavor. Glorious black and white attention to detail! Splendid.
