Batman or Wolverine?

[Eddy]

If you want a sketch from Jim Lee, chances are you'll want one of these two characters. But which one? Decisions, decisions...Well, why not both!

That's exactly what he did for this year's annual San Diego Comic-Con charity auction. Plus, it was done completely in ink for all those original art collectors keeping track out there. The piece also went for a hefty sum, which benefits their handicapped services and deaf interpreters.

And for Jim's next convention appearance, check out the Canadian National Comic Book Expo coming up this weekend:

Stop by and say "Hi" and if you're lucky, maybe you'll see Jim drawing a Batman sketch! Or Wolverine! Or both!

Unfortunately, I won't have any Gelatometti Sketchbooks for sale at the show, but please feel free to contact me and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.

Hope to see you all there!

Olivier Coipel's gonna need a medic on Sept. 2... say @ around 4PM. ;D ;]

To be fair, any other artist would need one after a battle against Jim effin' Lee.

Have fun @ Toronto, folks!

Peace...

meanwhile... Jim's actual Batman comic book is nowhere to be found!

I dunno, it looks great, I wish Jim would draw a book like this. His B&W sketches and the pencil issue of Batman are always much cooler than what's in the books. Remember that Havok sketch? That was brilliant!

I REALLY wish Jim would do a book with watercolors. I'd be willing to wait 6 months an issue for that.

Old watercolor comics...photoshop just killed them...I hope the 2007 Milo Manara's X-Girls book will be great and entirely done with watercolors!!

Jims watercolor stuff over at the old msn group is amazing. Beats the hell out of anything I've seen in print from Jim... ever! It's actual art instead of the tired old 'Jim Lee hyper detailed' line art he's been doing his whole career.

I just wish he'd streach his wings a bit. he's got real talent, I just don't think he uses it. It's just the same thing over and over and over.

I'm bored. I wasnt Jim to wow me.

and frankly the delays on All Star are just terrible. I'm very saddened by Jims apparent inability to produce a book even close to on time. and Wildcats 3.0 should have kept going, this relaunch sounds rather "lets get the old band back together" even though the new band was doing amazing things. Joe Casey really did some great stuff in 3.0. I don't imagine Grants undoing of all of that is going to be anywhere as good. It seems very typical, where as, 3.0 was atypical.

Sorry, but I have no platitudes for what Jim is doing these days.

Arrived early Sunday but the line up was capped before the doors even opened (how'd that happen? even the staffers didn't know). They told me if I really wanted to test my luck, I could wait in the back (this being 11am). And only minutes shy of 3pm, the con staffer came out and allowed the last 15 or so of us to get into line for a single autograph each. I could tell he was dead tired after nearly 3 hours of signings; I couldn't muster up the nerve to ask him to personalize my copy of Absolute Hush. I quickly thanked him and quietly slid out the side curtain. *sigh* Thanks for taking the last possible seconds of your schedule for us poor shmoes, Jim. We weren't worthy!!!
