(entry: Carlitos)
Waddup y’alls, how’s it going?!? …most of us here at the studio are ‘decompressing’ from the insanity that San Diego has become (in a good way). Five days of nonstop coming and going and never having enough time to check out everything the show’s got to offer …it’s like running a damn marathon I tell you!!! (^_^)… anyway, Francis Manapul was hanging out at Wildstorm this last Friday (before heading out to Canada), and we had just come back from having a pretty delicious (and monstrous) Indian food lunch. I couldn’t help it much, so by the time we got back to the studio, I just sat down and crashed out from a chronic case of ‘food coma’. I’m not sure how many minutes passed (but not enough) when Alé starts bugging me and asking me to wake up so we could all do a ‘Gelatometti challenge’ … the heartless bastard finally woke me up and we all decided to ‘tag team’ this one, with one artist laying the piece out, and another doing ‘finishes’ on it… And so it began ☺
…the teams were:
1. JJ Kirby and Ale Garza
2. Richard Friend and Joel Gomez
3. Francis Manapul and yours truly
… the character we decided to do was Voodoo, and this is what we came up with (about 20 minutes for laying it out, and about 40 for doing finishes on it)
…’aight then, let the voting begin!!! (cue gong sound)
UPDATE: Winner by a nose: Francis Manapul and Carlos D'Anda! Thanks for voting everybody!!!

Oh mah damn!! O.O
Number 3 for me!
One frickin' hour... I wouldn't even be able to do that in one frickin' day. lol...
Peace...
Number 3!
Number 3. Too good.
Number 3, the ink is tight to say the least.
Francis and Carlos owns this challenge!
francis and carlos. as always, great stuff from everyone :)
#3 is the best!
Third one gets my vote...
I also vote #3. Great looking piece!
My vote for #3!!
# 3 hands down. 1 and 2 are nice but both have some anatomy and Layout issues that just aren't selling me.
Got to go with #3 too - and only one hour? Yeesh!
Ehy, It'like shooting on the red cross! I guess Carlito just wants the after food revenge! :-) Anyway I vote for him. The 3rd one rules!
Fabrizio from Italy
#3. But I'm really impressed with all of them, given the time constraints.
I really want to see what you guys would do with a 24-Hour Comic challenge, working as a group...
I'm given it to number 3...
manapul/d'anda!
Number three!!
Tres! The detail is awesome...
You kidding me? Number 3... all the way. Crazy people... in an hour??? :) Well done!
Still taking votes?
I'm with JJ and Ale on this one.
Yo
There all pretty impressive. Im gonna go for 3. I couldnt draw 1 of them in like 1 day let alone 1 hour.
Jon
Excellent bold approach!
Have to say the last one - but it's tough!
Since everyone and their mother has responded here, I'll have to choose that one.
That is my definative answer.
Yup
That one.
My Stuff
Definitely a winner, and definitely mine. I brought home the D'anda/Manupul Voodoo piece from the CBLDF auction ad the San Diego Int'l Comic Con 2007. Awesome work of art.
