REALLY close call, but I go with Ale's since there's all that going on in the background and it's more true to the character. (Mikey looks badass but a little too menacing for Mikey, I think)
But this one speaks to me a bit more. I applaud the risk-takin' w/ the composition, but this woulda been the definite winner for me w/ the full-figured Raphael alone... w/ the rectangular shape in the back. And a spot-colored red mask against the gray tones.
Gotta give props to the elements, though! Diggin' the body spots, the pose, the background evolutionary chart, and the foreground w/ the Raphael-esque bird-flippin' w/ the sai. Great ideas!!
very tough call on this one, you both did a tremendous job but i have to go with ale here. i love the turtle evolution in the background, very cool. i may be biased though, i dunno :)
Being the one that suggested tmnt. Im goin with ale. I feel as if the proportions are more tmnt in quality, being that they are somewhat muscular and not just skinny muscular like ryans. I enjoyed both peices but I also felt that ales was more of a standalone piece and not just a character drawing.
Enjoy both of your work alot but have to go with ALE on this one.
I think both pieces are extremely sweet and both drawings are pretty dynamic but Ale gets the vote for taking the time and arranging his piece in a formal composition.
My vote goes to Ale garza!!!!! Did you know.... Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is based on a true story: Chuck Norris once swallowed a turtle whole, and when he pooped it out, the turtle was six feet tall and was a master of karate!
I'm really loving the mutant emphasis on this one... I like therefore I vote.

ReplyDeleteREALLY close call, but I go with Ale's since there's all that going on in the background and it's more true to the character. (Mikey looks badass but a little too menacing for Mikey, I think)
