[Nome]Hello everyone, here is another one of my paintings titled "Post-Apocalyptic Limbo". I did this piece the day after September 11, 2001. Like everyone else I was scared to death, confused, and depressed. To help me cope I just started to paint.
This is probably my second favorite painting I've done and it was hard to let go at an art show I had back home in Austin a few years ago, almost like closure to a difficult period in the past. Looking at it on my wall everyday always reminded me of the panic of that moment.
I have a few more post 9/11 pieces that I'll post in the upcoming weeks.
Is there a reason you sold it? Was it necessary to get some closure on the past? Just curious. I tend to hold on to things forever and it's hard for me to "let go" of items that bring back strong memories.
ReplyDeleteI do hold onto certain things but it was time to let that piece along with some others go, just cause.
