Beware my Power...

A quickie here today. Got to run to the airport...ah, the work never lets up.

Here's one of the first sketches of the New Year--one of my favorite DC characters of all...Green Lantern. Was a big fan of Alan Scott, Hal Jordan and of course, Jon Stewart. Great concept, great characters. Why they can't do an amazing liveaction movie with today's technology is beyond me. I'd ditch the weakness to yellow, wood, or any combination of the two though. As a fan, I love the classic elements of these characters but even these greats need a bit of updating. Nips and tucks though...nips and tucks.

Bigger shot here.

The planet is truly beautiful. Clearly you've been spending a lot of time in air planes looking down on our little globe!

I think limiting super powers is actually a good thing. Superman is too damn powerful and because of that it's really hard to relate to him. Plus, though he looks human, he isn't... We all have weaknesses we need to overcome and if our heroes do to - it's that's much more satisfying when they provail.

wonderful piece Jim. I've always loved the Lantern Corps, such a great concept and I think Jon Stewart is great too, there really needs to be more minority heroes in comics. I've always really liked your rendition of Kyle Rayner.

I think that's the best part of the Lanterns, same concept yet each one is so different. Hooray for DC's space heroes, hehe.

See, I consider this a major problem with The Daily Show's popularity - so many people are leaving the "h" out of poor GL John Stewart's name! :)

'S lovely as always, Jim.

Hey Jim... Just a simple question....How?? How?? How the damn heck are you able to bring out these small details that almost everyone else fails to notice and how the damn are you able to just .... I mean you're too good and you know that but even you seem to be raising your own standards with each piece you do and if that's a quickie then what'll a piece that's done with patience look like ??
Just Amazing MAN !!!
